Magaly Azuara is a Mexican tap dance artist, producer, and educator based primarily in Monterrey, MX, and Amsterdam, NL. Her journey in tap dance began in Mexico, where her passion for the art form inspired her to seek new opportunities abroad.

In 2018, she moved to New York City, where she performed at venues such as The Symphony Space, The Duke Theater, Emerging Choreographer Series (ECS), and Dance Astoria, among others. Her dedication and talent earned her scholarships from the American Tap Dance Foundation and Steps on Broadway, allowing her to refine her craft and connect with influential figures in the tap dance community.
In 2023, Magaly was selected to join the prestigious Tap Program at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, where she worked with world-renowned artists such as Dormeshia, Derick K. Grant, Michelle Dorrance, and tap legends Sam Weber and Chester Whitmore. She has also performed at prominent tap festivals, including Art Beat Tap Festival, The Cleveland Tap Experience, and the Chicago Human Rhythm Project.
Beyond performing, Magaly is dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers. She has led workshops and created choreography for studios across Mexico and US, while also producing events like Beat in the Feet, a platform that highlights the powerful synergy between tap dance and jazz. In 2024, she founded the Beat in the Feet Youth Crew, Mexico’s first pre-professional tap company, furthering her commitment to putting tap dance on the stage in her home country.
